The digital divide is a prominent issue in developing countries. The digital divide is the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology (ICT) and those that don’t or have restricted access. PVP Coders aims to address this gap in technology in PattiVeeranPatti India. This is a small village located in South India. This divide is prominent in this area due to the lack of access to the internet and proper education in computer science. I had the privilege to meet 45 smart students with the potential and eagerness to learn, but no opportunity to explore in this area. In the summer of 2023, I went and taught basic programming and saw their eyes light up with curiosity. I was so fulfilled by this experience that I am making yearly curriculums and going to teach every year. To do this, we need your help. Read below to help! How Can You Help?

Purchase a Micro:Bit for a kid!

We need your help to make this goal possible. We need to purchase 45 Micro: Bits to teach the students Python. This will help them get an introduction to basic coding and different career paths than what is usually offered in Indian schools. You can purchase this from the Amazon shopping registry and you can either purchase a 10-pack, which will change 10 coders’ lives, or a 1-pack to help one coder. Anything helps!
