Hello everyone! My name is Madhumitha Sivalingapandian (Mithu) and I am a senior in high school working on my Gold Award project. I am interested in computer science and want to share my passion with others who may not have had the same education as me. They say teaching is the best way to learn and I agree. I have learned so much while teaching these coders and I can see the curiosity shine in their eyes. I want to fuel that ambition and that is exactly what I plan to do.
I had the pleasure of working with the students from Nadar Sundara Visalatchi Vidyasala Matriculation Higher Secondary School. They are between the ages of 10-13. They did not have access to the internet so they were not able to work on their code online. They have bright eyes and big dreams that need to be fueled.
I got to work with these bright young girls from Girls Higher Secondary School. They are also between the ages of 10 -13 and enjoyed every minute of coding. They did not have enough computers to be able to program by themselves so we had to share two computers. We need to fix this issue to help them succeed in this new era where technology is a major focus point.
